High School Aviators Program

Wings of Refuge Flight School is an excellent place for high school-aged kids to investigate the realm of aviation. Their interests may include flying airplanes for themselves, designing them, directing them from a control tower, or any number of other fascinating airplane related careers. In all cases, Wings of Refuge Flight School wants to help more young people get involved in the exciting world of flying. To bring this about, we are expanding the number of high school programs that we run every year and are working with area high schools and the Institute for Aerospace Education to bring the joy of flight into more high school students’ range of career options.

 

We are constantly adding more opportunities for students and currently offer the following:

 

Discover your passion for aviation.
Introductory Flight
Discover the amazing world of aviation with an introductory flight for only $30.00 per student aviator.
 
Request Additional Information
Take to the skies and tour Air Traffic Control.
Lexington Airport Flight
Students have the opportunity to take a flight to Lexington Airport, as well as tour the Air Traffic Control Tower.

Cost is only $100.00 per student aviator (based on 3 student participants), or $150.00 per student aviator (based on 2 student participants).

Ground School
This program offers students with four 2-hour sessions during the semester, including ground school (introductions to various aspects of aviation) and 3 short flights.

Cost is $50.00 per student (based on 12 participants).
